i went for a blood donation drive at the university centre today. well, i was upposed to go ytd with duncan but i couldnt wake up. yes, my nocturnal life of staying up at night and sleeping in the afternoon has screwed me up. my first time and i gotta say, it was an interesting experience.
the examination and drawing boody part was fine. quite painless actually. the funny thing was the nurses gathered around to oooh and ahhh over my nails. geez, i felt like an exhibit pumping my blood away on some machine while curious tourists looked into my cage.
i was feeling qute thirsty throughout the whole thing, but even after having my blood drawn, i was feeling much much more thirsty. so i went to tim horton's on the first floor for an ice cappucino (i must be the only one who drinks it in winter).
anyway, to my dismay, they STILL hadnt repaired the machine so i had to goup to the tim horton's on the 2nd floor. i was feeling quite winded by then. in fact, while in line waiting to order, i was feeling quite dizzy and nauseous. tried to fight it, but in the end i had to go to the bathroom, which is on the first floor. drats.
by then my vision was pretty fuzzy and dim, like black edges surrounding everything, you know? but i managed to get myself safely down the stairs. so pheww. i nearly puked on the way to the toilet. i believe i spent at least half an hr in the toilet just sitting down and recovering my breath. i really was having a hard time breathing. at tt point i was thinking, why the heck didnt i get someone to accompany me.
after getting my body stabilized, i slowly trudged back home (forget the stupid cappacino man) and fell into a dead sleep until dinner.
moral of the story: dont climb stairs repeatedly trying to get a cup of cappacino after a blood donation.
